Fighter Jets And Submarines In The Seacoast

(Portsmouth, NH) - You may see and hear military aircraft in the skies over the seacoast this week.

Six F16 Fighter Jets left the Pease International Tradeport at 3 this morning.

Six F15's will depart at 5 tomorrow morning, and two F15's will fly out Thursday morning at 7.

Pease officials say that the pilots are required to utilize the engine afterburners during takeoff, creating a significant noise.

Meanwhile, the USS Providence departed the Portsmouth Navy Yard Friday after a 16-month stay.

The Providence was at the shipyard for a Pre-Activation Restricted Availability (PIRA) and left 23 days ahead of schedule and on budget.
