Flag Day To Be Observed In Dover Today
(Dover, NH) - Officials from the Dover Lodge of Elks will lead a ceremony at 6 pm in Henry Law Park.
The Elks have celebrated Flag Day since 1911.
The day commemorates the adoption of the U.S. flag by the Second Continental Congress on this date in 1777.
This evening at 6, Dover officials , local veterans and members of the Elks will conduct a ceremony to honor our nations symbol.
This week I gathered a number of flags no longer in use and brought them to the Dover Elks lodge where they will be properly disposed of in a separate ceremony.
The public is invited to attend this evenings Flag Day ceremony in the Rotary Arts Pavilion in Henry Law Park in Dover.
