It Began In A Dimly Lit Back Room
Part of my job is to go backstage at concerts and meet the artists. I know....it's a tough life, but you know what they say....someone has to do it. Thursday night, I had the task of going backstage to meet Keith Urban.Megan, our former producer was with me. The story begins with us in a back hallway of the Verizon Wireless Arena. A couple of dozen people were in line to meet the star. When it was our turn, we were escorted into a room, which was dimly lit with black drapes all around. A big and I mean BIG security guard was standing at his post. He opened a curtain, and there was KU! OMG...my heart started beating fast, my palms were sweaty and I instantly became Fan Girl! Keith, (we're on a first name basis), hugged me and called me baby. We talked for a few minutes about how his wife, Nicole and I are both left handed and he should sell left-handed guitars as part of his "Urban Guitar" collection. After our picture, he hugged me for the second time and called me baby again. As I was leaving, I said "Keith, call me baby one more time!" He said "Bye Baby!" My life...complete!
