Some members of the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains were able to spend some time with New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu earlier this week to join him as he proclaimed this weekend to be GIRL SCOUT COOKIE WEEKEND!

Governor Sununu made the proclamation this past week, honoring Girl Scouts for investing in the future of girls. According to the Associated Press, Patricia Mellor, the CEO of Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, says the Girl Scout cookie program teaches girls five essential skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

There are many, many different varieties of Girl Scout Cookies. I know the majority of people will always say that 'Thin Mints' are their favorite of all time. But, I'm more of a Samoa cookie girl myself!

Being a former Brownie and Girl Scout, I clearly remember the days of going door-to-door asking neighbors if they wanted to buy any cookies. I remember carrying around that big multi-colored order sheet...4 Thins Mints, 3 Samoa's, etc!

I also remember my dad  bringing the order form into work and getting a lot of his co-workers to buy the cookies!

So make sure you celebrate Girl Scout Cookie Weekend in New Hampshire by purchasing a box or three!
