This TikTok Compilation Of Mainers Falling On The Ice Is A Riot
We have all been there, so why not enjoy other people doing it!
Many mornings during the winter at 5am, when I walk through the parking lot here at work, I come close to wiping out on a regular basis,
and I can't lie, many times I have. I also recall, falling right on my butt on my front steps in front of a bunch of people, so I can feel
the pain of these people, literally.
When you wipe out on the ice and snow, it hurts like hell. Not to mention it's a damn good way to injure yourself if you aren't careful.
With this fairly cruel idea in mind, a search of TikTok videos, and you will find a treasure chest of slippery delights, best of all, there is a whole section of them,
that are right here in the good old state of Maine!
The people who post these types of things have a pretty good sense of humor about it, otherwise they wouldn't want anyone else to see it. Make sense right?
Now that we have hurt, let's try to help also! Here are 5 easy tips to ensure that you never become famous on social media for taking a spill:
1. Wear boots or slip-resistant shoes.
2. Watch out for black ice which forms when wet pavement freezes.
3. Use your arms to keep yourself stable and balanced when walking on ice.
4. Be mindful of where you park and be careful getting out of your car.
5. Use handrails whenever possible
