It can be anxiety-inducing to try and find a mechanic when your vehicle is in need of servicing. You want to find someone that is fairly priced and does top notch work, but who is also trustworthy.

And, unfortunately, there have been so many horror stories (not necessarily in the Northern New England area, just in general around the country) that, no matter who you go to, there's a chance when you find out the work that needs to be done, you ask yourself one question:

Since I moved to Maine, I've brought my truck to be serviced -- whether for regular servicing or massive repairs -- to Lee Toyota of Topsham. And, quite honestly, the service I've received there has easily been above and beyond any I've ever received by any other mechanic or dealership in my driving life.

And, quite honestly, it's has nothing to do with feeling like they're fairly priced or are consistent with quality work -- it's more about the little things they've done for me and other customers as well.

I always stay in the waiting area while my truck is being worked on, and along with having a snack machine and a drink machine in that area, there is also a counter with a couple of different options for coffee, stored in carafes.

During one visit, I went to snag a cup, only for the carafe to be empty. No big deal, just sashayed back to my seat to wait for my truck to be ready, only to be tapped on the shoulder by an employee about five minutes later.

Excuse me? You tried getting a cup of coffee earlier, right? I just wanted to let you know that we just brewed a fresh pot if you're still interested.

And it's the customer service like that that sets Lee Toyota of Topsham apart from a lot of other businesses. Or the care and appreciation they have for their other customers, calling out a name to the whole waiting room, then taking a seat next to them to explain any updates they have on their vehicle.

On top of that, they've instituted a text method of updating customers on the progress of their vehicle's inspections or repairs, along with the in-person updates. And if the suggest more work be done after you click the link leading to their recommendations, there is an option to approve or deny the servicing.

It just so happened during one visit, I needed a few things done, which I approved from the waiting room. A few minutes later, I received a phone call from one of the senior members of the service department confirming my confirmation of the servicing, but also pointing out that because it was late in the day and the additional service I needed was lengthy, my vehicle wouldn't be ready until the following day.

They're literally so thorough that they kept me from sitting in the waiting room for hours upon hours waiting for my truck because I missed the part that mentioned it wouldn't be ready until the following day by making one simple phone call.
