The Maine Mall has been around for over 50 years, which means not only decades of shopping but also decades of people choosing where to eat after some retail therapy.
Sure, you could hit up the numerous restaurants all around South Portland, but you might be surprised by just how many options for food there are in the mall.
Did you know there are 15 places in the Maine Mall where you can grab a bite to eat or drink?
Where to Eat Inside the Maine Mall in South Portland?
A lot has changed since the Maine Mall first opened in the early '70s, and while many stores have come and gone (we see you, Jordan Marsh and Sears), so too have the places to eat.
Remember when there used to be a York Steak House? Or what about the Lobster Boat Cafe that was literally like you were sitting on a lobster boat?
While those two spots are no longer around, there are a number of other places that have solidified themselves in the mall to satisfy your hunger.
And there continue to be new restaurants making their mark as well.
In fact, the Maine Mall posted on its Facebook page that Aromas of India opened at the end of March 2026. This place, which serves up authentic Indian food, took over the location for what was once Soul Food Paradise and an Arby's.
