More Gusty Winds, Heavy Rain to Impact New Hampshire, Maine Seacoast

A storm with heavy rain and gusty winds will drench the Seacoast region starting late Sunday night and lasting all day Monday.

The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, has issued a Coastal Flood Watch and High Wind Watch for Monday in anticipation of a storm moving towards New England from the south that will skirt southeast New England.

No wintry precipitation is expected from the storm in the Seacoast region, as temperatures are above normal in the 40s at night and the 50s during the day.

• Rain from the storm begins early Monday and lasts all day. There could even be a thunderstorm at the start of the storm. Rainfall will accumulate 2-3 inches.
• Splash over and minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible during high tide Monday afternoon after 3 p.m.
• Winds out of the southeast with sustained winds of 25-35 mph could gust to 55 mph along the immediate coast on Monday. Some power outages are possible as branches could fall onto power lines.

The storm winds down Monday night, with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 40s during the day and upper 20s at night.
