Let There Be Light (At A Lower Cost) In Rochester
(Rochester, NH) - The City of Rochester is in the process of replacing its street lights with cost-saving LED lights.
The work began on May 1 to replace the 1450 municipally-owned street lights. The first phase will be completed by June, and the rest set to be completed by the end of November.
The project costs just under $350,000, part of which will be offset by a $100,000 energy efficiency grant from Eversource.
With the use of LED lights, the city expects to save $95,000 a year in energy costs.
