In order to manage my depression, I try to get outside and take in nature just about any way I can.  Be it the beach or a hike.  Everyone loves hiking in the warmer weather, but I enjoy the quiet solitude of a winter hike, weather permitting.

It was a perfect day last Sunday.  I was once told by a hiking guide that there is no bad weather, just wrong clothes.

I dressed in layers, made sure I had enough water and a thermos of coffee, told my wife where I was hiking and when I was expected to arrive back home, and off I went to tackle Mt. Major.

I would highly recommend this hike. It wasn't too hard for me and I'm a big guy. I was talking with a co-worker and she said OMG "I can't believe you hiked Mount Major in the wintertime".  The most important thing to me is a clearly marked trail and I followed the Yellow Marked Trail.

It took me about 2 hours to reach the summit where I was delighted with an amazing view. Check out the pictures!
