Ice Cream Spot in Maine Named One of the of the Most Delicious in the Country
Nothing says summer like ice cream. In fact, if you are me, nothing says winter, spring, fall, or summer like ice cream because I love ice cream.
I am very particular, so I have to get up to Maine and try out the selection at Mt. Desert Island Ice Cream, since according to newscentermaine.com, it has been named one of the top 15 tastiest ice cream shops in the country by Travel Awaits.
Mt. Desert Island in Bar Harbor, Maine, makes ice cream from real ingredients.
Owner Linda Parker tells newscentermaine.com: “When we make chocolate ice cream, we use actual chocolate. A lot of people don’t do that. When we make vanilla bean ice cream, we scrape the beans. We really try to do things as naturally as possible.”
Maybe that’s why her products are so tasty! She has so many unique flavors like salted caramel and cinnamon cardamom.
My wife always puts cardamom in her homemade whipped cream so that might be the flavor I have to try.
It’s nice to see Mt. Desert Island honored in the midst of the pandemic.
Linda Parker first started with a store in Firefly Lane in Bar Harbor in 2005, according to the news station, and since then she has opened up more locations including Portland, Washington D.C., and even as far away as Mastsumoto, Japan.
I think I will try the Maine location first. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Have you been to Mt. Desert Island for their ice cream? If so, what would you recommend for me to try first?
