My Christmas Traditions: #5 A Child’s Christmas In Wales
(Dover, NH) - There will be multiple readings of the beautiful story by Dylan Thomas.
We have accumulated several different copies of the story, but this version, with beautiful artwork by Trina Schart Hyman, is by far my favorite.
I marvel at the way Dylan Thomas, through his eloquence, is able to transport us back to that one day of his youth. You can almost feel the snow, smell the aroma of the Christmas dinner and hear the tolling of bells that he describes.
Several years ago, I was able to locate a recording of Thomas reading the story himself, and I love to close my eyes and hear the familiar passages in the authors own voice.
It takes less than 20 minutes to read, so find a copy, sit by the fireplace and enjoy one of the most beautiful Christmas stories ever.
