New Hampshire Drivers Will Face Major Traffic Headaches Next Year
So, here' the good news. The construction doesn't get underway until early next year. The bad news...once work begins, it's going to be a nightmare commute for those who use I-293 through Manchester.
Those who use I-293 between Bedford and Manchester, New Hampshire will have to brace themselves for what will possibly be a traffic nightmare. The NHDOT according to NBC10 Boston, says it will begin bridge repairs on I-293 and Route 101 beginning early 2019.
When work begins on the bridge over the Merrimack River, crews will take the three-lane highway, down to two lanes and will also close the north-bound ramp to Brown Ave.
If you or someone you knows commutes on that portion of I-293, city officials say there are a couple of detours you can use. Those options include exiting the highway at Exit 1 and making a U-turn. You could also use Queen City Ave an alternative.
Of course, we will keep you updated on any information as we get closer to the start date of the construction.
