Like many people, I have gained a whole new appreciation for the great outdoors since the pandemic. I recently started dipping my toes in the hiking pond and so far, I am a huge fan.

There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment that washes over you when you finally reach the peak of a mountain. So far, I have hiked Rattlesnake Mountain and Mount Major in New Hampshire and The Beehive Trail and Precipice Trail in Acadia. If you don't know about my experience on Precipice Trail, check that out here.

At this stage in my hiking career, I am not hardcore enough to hike mountains once they are covered with ice and snow. I know people get microspikes on their shoes and Git 'er Done, but I am simply too clumsy.

However, I am already starting to think about what mountains I want to conquer in the Spring when the snow melts.

My friend is working her way through the 48 4,000 Footers in New Hampshire and I am so very proud of her. I am hoping she lets me tag along as she crosses more off her list in 2021.

One hike I am dying to do is the Franconia Ridge Loop Trail in Lincoln, New Hampshire.

According to OnlyinYourState, it is second highest range in the White Mountains. It has also been deemed by National Geographic as one of the top ten best hikes in the world.

It is roughly 8 miles long, and generally takes hikers around 7 hours to complete. Yikes, I have never hiked for that long! I would need many Cliff bars and tons of Gatorade.

Have you hiked this trail or any other 4,000 footers in New Hampshire?
