One Bridge Reopens, Another Will Close Between NH & Maine

(Portsmouth, NH) - Crews are set to complete work on the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge on the Route 1 By-Pass, reopening the structure Sunday night.

The bridge was closed for the past week to complete work delayed by spring weather on the new bridge.

As that bridge opens, officials are planning to close the Memorial Bridge between Portsmouth and Kittery to vehicle traffic for the day Tuesday for routine maintenance.

The Memorial Bridge will close at 6 am Tuesday and should reopen by late afternoon.

Pedestrian and maritime traffic will not be affected.
