Maine Police Rule Valentine’s Day Pot Cookies Were No Bake
State officials have concluded the investigation into a Bangor daycare where alleged marijuana laced cookies were brought into the facility on Valentine's Day were free from intoxicants.
That's right, the cookies, which drew suspicion from employees at the Watch Me Shine daycare center in Bangor were found to be perfectly safe. According to a report from WCSH 6, the cookies were brought in on Valentine's Day for staff by a parent. None of the cookies were consumed by children. At the time, the daycare closed after staff reported feeling intoxicated. The parents were contacted, and a new rule of no outside food was enacted the following day.
Police took the cookies into evidence, and the state crime lab found the cookies in question to be free of controlled substances.
Now that the cookies have been cleared of a crime, police were left to wonder what caused the intoxicated feelings. There will be no further investigation.
