Portsmouth Man Arrested For Strong-Armed Robbery

(Portsmouth, NH) - The Seacoast Emergency Response Team was called in to make an arrest early Monday morning.

50 year old Joseph Kelley of Portsmouth will be arraigned on a Felony Robbery charge in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Police say a woman reported being robbed Sunday afternoon after making a withdrawal from a drive-up ATM at the TD Bank on Lafayette Road.

The 55 year old woman said that a man reached into her car and used physical force to take an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were able to find the suspects get-away vehicle parked at a Portsmouth Hotel and set-up surveillance though the night Sunday. After identifying Kelley as the suspect, the S.E.R.T officers arrested Kelley around 7 Monday morning on Manor Drive in Portsmouth.
