Throughout the day, every day, we are faced with choices. We either can do the right thing or we can selfishly operate as we are the only living being on this planet. No one here has a perfect score and does the right thing 100% of the time. Not even Mother Teresa and she was an actual saint! Most of us are just trying our best.

Mike Millikan shared a story on the Portsmouth, NH, Facebook page that warmed the hearts of many and triggered a chain reaction of kindness. Mike was shopping at the Hannaford on Islington Street in Portsmouth. (HEY! THAT'S WHERE I SHOP!)

He said he got $40 cash back at the self service checkout. He was in a rush and left it there. Once he realized what he had done he went back only to find that a kind woman had turned his money in to customer service. $40 could have gone a long way for someone, especially at a grocery store. Mike wanted this woman to know how much he appreciated her honesty and kindness. The best way he could think to repay her was to donate $40 to Gather, which is an unbelievable organization that has been battling food insecurity on the Seacoast for over 200 years!  Many people commented on the post and said Mike's story moved them to also donate $40 to Gather.

When I moved to the Seacoast about a year ago I knew I was relocating to a very special place. Every single week I am reminded of the tight knit and kind community that exists here. I am so fortunate to be a part of it.
