Pumpkins Launched Into The Sky At NHMS Extreme Chunkin’ Fest
Ever want to see a perfectly good piano destroyed? This event is for you.
Fall brings a ton of agricultural fairs, opportunities to pick apples, rake leaves, and other relaxing fun activities. Then there's what's in store at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
It's Extreme Chunkin. Per their website, October 20 and 21, teams from all across the country will go the distance in an all-out battle for greatness. They'll use machines such as trebuchets, catapults and air cannons to launch pumpkins and other extreme items in both distance and target competitions (four rounds of each). Also, cranes drop pianos and giant pumpkins throughout the day. If your kids get bored with standing in an orchard for an hour, taking them to watch piano destruction would be the yin to the yang.
This year, they've added a beer garden. Plus, live music, distance and accuracy shooting, carnival rides, vendors and displays, and lots of activities for the kids. For example, kids eight years and older can participate in Kids Archery and get an airbrush tattoo from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
