This Tiny New Hampshire Supermarket on the Vermont Border Named the Best in the State
With all the chains in the world of grocery stores, you would think that Market Basket or Hannaford would be named as the best grocery store in New Hampshire, but as of January of 2026, this tiny (comparitively speaking) grocery store got the nod for the best in the 603.
Charlestown, New Hampshire is the Home of the Best Supermarket in the State
According to Lovefood.com, Ralph's Supermarket is the best supermarket in the state. Located on the border of Vermont and New Hampshire, the store serves as a gathering place for the neighborhood. Customers have been going there for decades.
Ralph's has a great meat section, a deli counter with pizza, salad and subs.
Sounds like a place that has it all for their customers. It reminds me of Janetos in Dover, New Hampshire. I got there frequently since it's not far from the station. The other one I can think of is Sully's (no relation) in Goffstown and Allenstown, NH. That place has a small, neighborhood grocery story feel to it as well.

Ralph's Supermarket Will Give You Dinner Ideas
Ralph's website is even charming. It has a recipe section to give you ideas for meals. I love that. How many times have you been asked, "What's for dinner?" Ralph's supermarket helps with that question. I found a great recipe for one dish (I'm all abou the one skillet) beef stroganoff. What a great idea! It gives you a list of all the ingredients so all you have to do is shop!
