If you have been a vehicle owner in Maine for more than a few years, you know what a pain it has been to register your car, truck, or SUV.

You have always needed to take time out of your probably already busy day so that you can go to the town office or city office.  Once you get to the office, you need to spend time waiting in line.  This is especially true if you go during your lunch break.  Then, you need to deal with the paperwork and writing the checks to the town and state.  It is just a time suck

It is especially painful for those who are living really busy lives.  Work, family, working with charity organizations, etc.

Well, for most of us, we no longer have to do that.

Thanks to rapid renewal, you can renew the registration on your vehicle or trailer from your office, your home, or wherever you have access to the internet.  And, you can do it on your schedule.  So, if you are right out straight from the time you get up until you put the kids to bed, you can take care of it after they're in dreamy-dreamland.

While the service is available in most places, it is not available to the residents of every town... yet.

Over the last few months, a few additional municipalities have opted into the program.

According to the State of Maine website, people living in Perham, Milbridge, Kenduskeag, Sedgewick, and Kingfield can now use the massive time saving service.

You can get more details and find out if your town is on the list that can use the service HERE.

Since the service went live, it has processed more than 2.9 million registration renewals.

Now, if they can find a way to make it so that getting your vehicle inspected takes less time...  Right?
