Rochester Politician Calls Pope the Antichrist: Can We Acknowledge That’s Crazy?

Calling The Pope the Antichrist? Welp, that's one way to up the crazy in New Hampshire!

Politico reports that Susan DeLemus, a state representative from Rochester, recently called the pope the Antichrist. Did she walk back here claim? Umm, not really-- only clarifying that she didn't mean Pope Francis specifically but the papacy in general. That sure clears things up.

Yes, she is fully in her right to spew hatred and allude to her anti-Catholic leanings. Free speech is a beautiful constitutional right. Can we agree, though, that we should collectively give it a "woah, now that's some kind of crazy" acknowledgement? An elected official from Rochester seriously called the Pope the Antichrist. Whether you agree or not with Pope Francis' positions or Catholicism in general is immaterial because, let's face it, if you're calling anyone the Antichrist there is a pretty solid chance you're on the wrong side of crazy.
