Close to 3 million Samsung washing machines are being recalled due to the possibility they might explode.

The recall affects Samsung's top-loading washing machines. Reports say to date, there have been over 730 reports of washers 'experiencing excessive vibration or the top detaching from the washing machine chassis.'  Thirty-four models being recalled.

Samsung says it has received reports of 9 people who have been hurt by the machines, including one person that reportedly suffered a broken jaw and another who injured their shoulder.

Samsung says the risk is elevated when the high-speed spin cycle is used for bedding or bulky items.

The machines were sold at Best Buy, The Home Depot, Lowes and Sears nationwide from March 2011 to November 2016 for between $450 and $1,500.
