Markey's Lobster Pound has been serving up seafood to the Seacoast since 1971. Their patio served as the backdrop for so many people's first lobster roll.

According to the listing on buildout.com, the current owner is seeking retirement and the restaurant is now for sale.

It is unclear if this is a result of the pandemic or it was just time to retire.

Someone shared the news on the "Friends of Hampton Beach" Facebook page. Many folks in the comments are wishing the owner a happy retirement! LOTS of people expressed that they want Markey's to remain Markey's even under new ownership. This is understandable.

People have created some fond memories at Markey's over the years. It would be sad to see another Seacoast staple turn into condos.

The listing is tempting and makes buying the restaurant sound like a KILLER investment. I don't know diddly squat about running a restaurant, but feel free to share the listing with someone who does!

"Rare opportunity to own a prosperous, established, fast paced seafood restaurant on the NH Seacoast that has been in business for over 50 years! With a positive cash flow year after year, this will prove to be an advantageous investment opportunity for the right buyer. Gross Sales exceed $2,300,000."

For $3,800,000 Markey's is as good as yours!
