Siri Saved This NH Man’s Life
According to Seacoast online, Christopher Beaucher was checking on his mother’s vacant cottage in Wilmot on May 1 when he saw something suspicious and went inside. When he flipped the switch to turn a light on the house went up in flames. (Authorities are still investigating the cause of this explosion)
His face and hands were so badly burned that he wasn't able to dial 911 for assistance. It was Siri, the iPhone's voice-controlled virtual assistant, who connected Beaucher with 911.
Say what you will about smartphones and their negative effects on society but in this instance, we are grateful to live in a time where 911 is able to be reached through voice control. Our thought's and prayers are with Chris and his family as he takes this time to heal.
