This New England Restaurant Is Serving Viral Soft Serve Margaritas
What do you get when you mix a margarita and soft serve? Apparently, the internet’s newest summer obsession!
Barrio is now serving soft serve margaritas at both their Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Haverhill, Massachusetts locations, and as someone who proudly considers herself a foodie, I feel like it’s my duty to report on every delicious trend that pops up across New England. And this one? It might just win summer.
The colorful pink-and-yellow swirl looks almost too pretty to eat, topped with a tiny umbrella and served with a mini shovel spoon that somehow makes the whole experience even more fun. People online are comparing it to Dole Whip, but with a boozy margarita twist. One reviewer even suggested adding tajín seasoning on the top for an extra spicy kick, which honestly sounds chef's kiss!
Barrio has already built a following for its creative tacos, tequila, and laid-back atmosphere, so it makes perfect sense they’d come up with something this trendy and over-the-top. The restaurant is known for letting customers customize tacos with bold flavors, unique sauces, and fun combinations, which is probably why their menu feels like a foodie playground.
If you’re making a full meal out of it, I’d absolutely pair the soft serve margarita with their Ballpark Nachos or one of their famous “Bombshell” tacos loaded with queso and bacon. The sweet-and-salty combo will be a tastebud homerun!
