The All-Pro cornerback is now among 3 Pats that tested positive. The possible ramifications of this test result are mind boggling.

According to several sources, the Tuesday evening test that Stephon Gilmore participated in came up positive and another test this morning confirmed that result.

He has been added to the Patriots ever growing COVID-19 reserve list and New England canceled their practices slated for today and tomorrow.

One thing that I was surprised to learn is that Gilmore was on 'The COVID plane'.

For those of you that may not be aware, the New England Patriots separated their team into two traveling groups for the trip to Kansas City on Monday.

One group of players had no recent direct contact with QB Cam Newton, who was the first to test positive early last weekend.

Gilmore was a passenger on the other plane, a group of twenty who did have direct contact with Newton.

Being that Gilmore is not only a defensive player, but as far from Newton on the playing field as possible, I never would have guessed that he was ever 'in direct contact'.

Just like everyone else, I keep typing 'New England Patriots latest' in the search bar in hopes of seeing some sort of decision about Sunday's game.

The Pats have a BYE week next week, so it's possible that they could postpone the game for 10 or so days but that really wouldn't be fair to Denver who have their BYE week scheduled for November 1st.

Not to mention, The KC Chiefs were in 'direct contact' with Gilmore less than 48 hours ago. Any positive tests that happen in KC will surely be blamed on New England.

Sadly, I get the feeling that this story has just begun and, much like everything that's happened in 2020, it'll feel like forever until we're on the other side of it.
