(Dover, NH) - Another road race will mean traffic and parking restrictions in Dover Saturday.

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire will hold it's annual 5K Run/Walk event starting at 9 Saturday morning. The event kicks-off the Seacoast Race Series for 2016.

The following downtown streets will be closed briefly to all traffic. These closures should last about 10 to 15 minutes:

  • Central Avenue from Second to Washington streets
  • Main Street at Chapel Street
  • Portland Avenue at Chapel Street

Additional roads will be closed for longer periods of time:

  • Henry Law Avenue from Washington to Hanson streets, 8 to 11 a.m.
  • Washington Street from Main to River streets, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Gulf Road from Atlantic Avenue to Baer Road, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Cocheco Street, 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Fairway Drive, 9 to 10 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays on Portland Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, and Oak Street. Dover police personnel and a number of event volunteers will be on hand to help manage the flow of traffic along the race route. The start and finish point for this event is at Henry Law Park.

Parking restrictions will be posted and in effect in the following areas on Saturday morning:

  • Henry Law Avenue, from Washington to George streets
  • Portland Avenue, from Main to Cocheco streets

Event parking for participants will be available in the Orchard Street parking garage, the Third Street or Transportation Center parking lots, or on River Street.
