Why Tiny Homes Are a Good Option for New England Homebuyers
If location, location, location is important to you as a homebuyer, then listen up.
The newest type of development is happening in Massachusetts, and it may be the answer for so many who simply can't afford a house right now with rising prices, interest rates, and property taxes.
If you are a minimalist, trying to downsize, or are just starting out in the housing market, this new concept is an idea you may want to explore.
The idea comes from a group of tiny homes forming a community, but the newest innovations are beautiful with oak flooring, stainless appliances, quartz counters, mini splits for cooling, electric heat, and small private backyards with outdoor showers.
Sounds intriguing, right? Additionally, many of the new models are HERS (Home Energy Rating System)-rated homes, so they are super efficient and green.
The newest community is in Manchester, Massachusetts, according to the Gloucester Times, but there are other communities in the Bay State in Carver, and on Cape Cod in Brewster and Orleans.
In New Hampshire, there's the Wildflower Tiny Home Community in Laconia, and Pine Hill RV Park in Alton and the Village at Flat Rock in Rochester. Find out more at downsizegeek.com.
Maine has tiny home communities in Topsham and Bangor, with mixed housing communities in York and Brunswick.
Why a tiny house? Depending on state zoning laws for tiny homes, you could have your house overlooking water, or that cozy spot in the woods, near a golf course, or on a ski slope. Location is everything in real estate, but these homes are beautiful and affordable.
Many homebuyers can't find those two options. Think about it, and see if it checks some boxes for you.
