UNH, Keene, Plymouth and Granite State Tuition Freezing Again For Next Year
Hooray! Such great news for families with college students!
According to a report from WMUR, UNH, Keene State, Plymouth State and Granite State college tuition will not increase next year because of affects of the pandemic. The report quotes Cathy Provencher, the University System Vice Chancellor as saying:
Ensuring that public higher education is accessible and affordable for students is a top priority for our institutions as we continue working to serve New Hampshire and to make our colleges and universities the first choice for New Hampshire students.
Great news for anyone trying to keep their college kids in school during this time. Great news for any student trying to pay their own way through college. That's what I did and I can tell you, it wasn't easy. My stepson is paying his way through UNH and he is working his butt off trying to do it, so this will be a little help.
If you have housing outside of campus property, tuition is a little more than $15,000 per year at UNH. If you need housing, it jumps to almost $35,000 per year. More good news from the article says that financial aid also increases next year.
The numbers seem daunting for someone who wants a four year degree, but there are absolutely ways to do it. Consider this time a bonus! If tuition is frozen, maybe it's time to jump in and just do it. Now is your time!
