World’s First Infomercial is Wonderfully Disturbing [VIDEO]

Papa Bernard, a name you can certainly trust, has a voice you simply must hear and a recipe you most certainly should avoid.

Recorded in 1949 and airing in 1950, the video is surprisingly similar to infomercials that you watch after falling asleep on the couch because you're too tired to reach for the remote. I adore his passion for potato pancakes, baseless fear mongering, and just about everything about this. Oh, and the only thing he forgot was to throw fish in the blender.
