Not only were there signs advertising July 10, 2025, but there was also a digital countdown... X amount of days, hours, and minutes until 7/10.

What is the significance behind 4/20?

When it comes to cannabis, most people know that 4/20 is the holiday...the holidaze if you will.

According to the Wikipedia page, and the ancient legend, a group of five high school students in California used the saying "420" as code. Originally, in 1971, the code was a meet-up time for the five students to search for an abandoned crop (weed) marked on a treasure map.

Eventually, the search for the abandoned crop was forgotten about, and the focus for the five friends just turned to smoking what they were looking for in the first place - weed.

So, every day at 4:20, the group of five friends would meet at a statue near the school to spark up.

Which is why 4/20, the date, and 4:20, the time, are widely known in the pot-smoking community.

What is the significance behind 710?

When I saw a countdown and signage related to 7/10 in cannabis stores in New England, I was left confused.

We know about 4/20...but what the heck is 7/10?

It is OIL spelt backwards.

Starting in 2012, 7/10 became a day to recognize the OIL usage in cannabis - oil pens, dabs, etc. A stronger, more concentrated form of THC.

So just like cannabis stores in New England had great deals on 4/20, dispensaries will likely have great deals on concentraiates and oils come 7/10.

Oh, how the times have changed...We have gone from buying eggs in the stores and weed on the streets to buying weed in stores and eggs off the streets.
