Officials in the state of New Hampshire are urging residents to take necessary precautions against mosquito bites, due to the fact the insects can spread diseases such as Triple e and West Nile.

According to a WMUR report, health officials are saying the mosquitoes are becoming more active each day around dusk and dawn.

Not only do you need to be concerned with West Nile virus and Eastern equine encephalitis (Triple e), but there is now a relatively new threat in the Granite State. Authorities say the Jamestown Canyon virus was first detected in New Hampshire in 2013. Since then, five residents have tested positive.
