Remember Going to the Movies?

The pandemic did a number to movie theaters and the film industry.  Just recently celebrity sightings have been popping up all over New England with the likes of George Clooney, Jon Hamm and others as an indication that the movie business is coming back.

Since the lockdown and America’s shift to streaming services, it looked like a grim future for movie theaters.  It appeared they might be a thing of the past.

Fear Not, Movies are Roaring Back to Life

It was heartbreaking to see the Cinemagic cinemas closing in New Hampshire.  They just couldn’t survive the pandemic shut down, but according to unionleader.com, Boston area-based company Apple Cinemas will operate the theater locations in Hooksett and Merrimack.

Streaming a movie at home is great, but nothing beats the theater experience.  Nothing compares to seeing a film on the big screen.

You can really immerse yourselves in the film and forget your own life for a few hours.

Still Nervous?

Are you still a bit nervous about going into a movie theater again?  Jegan Gomangalam of Apple Cinemas tells unionleader.com: “People are getting more comfortable.  We advertise that people should wear masks if they are not vaccinated. We promote a lot of safety measures within the theater, like more cleaning and placing gaps between the showtimes.”

The other great news is that the theaters in Hooksett and Merrimack will be hiring staff, which means more jobs for our area.  It’s a win/win.  I’m looking forward to seeing a movie on the big screen.
