Ben & Jerry’s Has Released A New Politically Charged Flavor
The New England based company is rolling out their newest addition right before the midterm elections.
According to WMUR ABC 9, Vermont's Ben & Jerry's has unveiled a new flavor titled Pecan Resist. They said the new flavor shows the company taking a stand against what it calls the Trump administration's regressive policies. The new flavor's release is part of a larger new campaign. WMUR reported Ben & Jerry's is giving $25,000 each to four activist entities: Color of Change, Honor the Earth, Women's March and multi-media platform Neta. The limited batch ice cream flavor was unveiled Tuesday in Washington ahead of the midterm elections.
The company, known for flavors like Cherry Garcia and Phish Food stated the following in a release that "it cannot be silent in the face of policies that attack and attempt to roll back decades of progress on racial and gender equity, climate change, LGBTQ rights, and refugee and immigrant rights."
No word on how long Pecan Resist will be available.
