Summer in New Hampshire is right around the corner.

So now is the time to plan your camping, swimming, and all other adventures for the summer.

If you don't have some idea of a rough plan, you may fall into the tourist traps and be stuck in a line for an hour trying to get into the parking lot for Diana's Bath.

Where to Swim in the White Mountains in New Hampshire?

Everywhere.

One of the things I always tell friends traveling through the White Mountains is to be ready to pull over and stop at any moment.

Often, people Google "where is the best swimming hole" and find themselves surrounded by hundreds of tourists, kids, and dogs when they wanted a quiet afternoon dip.

The best swimming hole, or swimming spot in New Hampshire, is wherever you can find some solitude.

Take, for example, the Swift River. The Swift River is along the Kanc, with numerous popular swimming spots like upper and lower falls, rocky gorge, etc.. Instead of pulling into one of the parking lots for those swimming spots, drive an extra half a mile to the nearest pull-off.

It is the same river. Sure, it may not have the rock slides or bathrooms, but it is the same "swimming hole."

The same applies to the Saco River. Or the Pemigewasset River that runs through Lincoln, NH.

Instead of Googling a swim spot when staying in Lincoln, just walk to the river and jump in somewhere (as long as it is not private property).

So, when I think of the best swimming hole in New Hampshire, I don't have one particular spot in mind.

For ME, it is wherever I can get into a natural stream, pond, or lake without people and outside distractions.
