(Dover, NH) - The Daniel Webster Council of the Boy Scouts of America will present their "Good Scout" award to Dover's Jack Buckley and Rochester's T.J. Jean.

For over 35 years, Jack Buckley served as Executive Director of the Dover Housing Authority. Buckley is a long-time NH public employee having been involved with city government since 1972. He is a past mayor of Dover and has served on numerous board and commissions including the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board, Dover Licensing Board, Dover Parking Commission and Dover's Cochecho Water Development Committee.

He is credited with bringing the New Hampshire Children's Museum to Dover from Portsmouth. In 2010 he was named the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year".  He was also honored by the Dover Rotary Club with a Paul Harris Fellowship.

He is a major supporter of many organizations and epitomizes the principles of the Good Scout Award.

T.J. Jean is the Administrator of the Gafney Home in Rochester. Jean had previously served as the Mayor of Rochester for six years and prior to that was the Director of the Center for Cancer Care at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Jean currently serves as Chairman for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and sits on the Board of Directors of Federal Savings Bank, Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Cornerstone VNA, and the Rochester Rotary Club. Additionally, Jean is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, and St. Mary Church in Rochester.

T. J. Jean exemplifies the values of the Good Scout Award.

The award ceremony begins at 5:30 this evening in the community room at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.

In addition to recognizing the honorees, the reception today will benefit the Boy Scouts of New Hampshire.
