Can You Tell Me What These Are? (Please Don’t Say Birds!)

(Dover, NH) - I spotted these birds on the way home from work this week, and stopped to take a few photos.

I think they are too big to be crows, and they were not making any noise at all.

Just sitting there on the bare branches of a tree, watching traffic.

Spooky!

One flew off to another branch, and the wing span was huge.

I was not the only one curious about these guys. Several other motorists also stopped and sat for a while and we all wondered just what they were.
