Did You Know The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Were Born In New Hampshire?

(Dover, NH) - I heard Bill & Kira Lew talking to a listener about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this morning, and I bet they don't know that the entire idea was born in Dover!

I was working at another radio station in Dover in 1984 when I heard about two guys who had created a new comic book, so I called them and did a 90-minute live interview.

Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird said they had been sitting around their Dover apartment and tried to come up with the craziest combination to create a team of Super Heroes.

Voila, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were born, and have gone on to become iconic figures in the comic book, movie and merchandising world!

My son had all the characters like those above, some that were like little squirt guns. They are probably still packed away.

My sad tale......Kevin and Peter gave me an autographed copy of Issue #1. I lent it to a friend to look at, and never got it back!
