Dover Man Busted For Commode Cam
(Dover, NH) - Police have arrested a Dover man for placing hidden video camera in the bathroom of his workplace.
32 year old Matthew Elwell of Pierce Street in Dover faces 3 charges of Violation of Privacy, all Class A misdemeanors.
The Dover Police Department began an investigation after receiving a report on from a local business that a hidden camera had been discovered in a restroom. The investigation revealed that a hidden camera disguised as a digital clock had been left on top of a toilet tank in an employee bathroom at Rocky Coast Printworks on June 17, 2016.
The camera recorded for approximately three and a half hours. During that time, three employees were recorded using the bathroom. All those recorded appear to be employees of the business; no members of the public were recorded. The recording also captured the video being set up by the suspect who was employed there.
As a result of the investigation, Dover Police Department detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Elwell. He turned himself in at police headquarters and was arrested without incident on July 13, 2014.
Elwell was released on personal recognizance bail on the condition he have no contact with the victim or any witnesses in the case. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Seventh Circuit Court – Dover District at 8:15 AM on October 24, 2016.
