Former Dover Facebook Group Admin Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen
A former page administrator for a popular Facebook page in Dover has been charged with sexually assaulting a female teenager, according to Dover police.
Lawrence Pilla, 60, was an active administrator for The (un)Official City of Dover, NH Facebook group, a site with over 10,000 members, up until a few days prior to his arrest on Thursday, according to a post made by another group admin late Thursday night.
"Larry is no longer affiliated with this group in any way, shape or form," Page admin Nathan Burnett wrote in an announcement to group members. "We are just as shocked as all of you. A few days ago Larry quietly and without explanation demoted himself as admin from this group and is no longer affiliated with us."
Pilla was charged with sexually assaulting a girl who is now 15 years old, although police said Pilla had known the teen for the last three years. Pilla turned himself into authorities Thursday.
Police said they launched an initial investigation in early October and ultimately obtained a warrant charging Pilla with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and three counts of felonious sexual assault.
Pilla was scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court on Friday, according to police.
