If you guessed the Morning Waking Crew was going to take it easy today because it's the end of the week and it's the Friday before Mother's Day, boy oh boy you guessed wrong! (By the way, 'take it easy' is a hint as to the prize we have in store for you next week.)
Where to begin - let's start with some of those nicknames your Mom gave you as a kid - and it sounds like for a lot of you, they're still with you to this day. Sorry about that!

Nicknames From Your Mom

If you think your nickname is bad, at least you're not Rebecca from Contoocook.  She is in her thirties and her Mom still calls her 'Bubble Butt Becca.'

Amber in Rumford, Maine says she was named 'Pooper' after a tub accident. Unfortunately, for Amber, the nickname has followed her into adulthood.

Congratulations to Deb. She emailed that her parents called her 'Boone' because she used to sip out of the Boone Farm Wine while riding in her Dad's truck!  Deb wins the final $50 gift card from Freshwater Farms in Atkinson, NH and a 'highly-prized and extremely-rare', WOKQ T-shirt!

NH Hosts an 'Alex Preston' Parade

If you watched American Idol Thursday night on FOX, you know Mont Vernon's Alex Preston is one step closer to becoming the next 'American Idol,' which means, he will be in the Granite State on Saturday for a parade being held in his honor.  Alex's day will kick off in Mont Vernon and work it's way to Durham for the parade and a Saturday night concert at the Whittemore Center.

Comedian Bob Marley

Bob Marley is one of those comedians who will always put a smile on your face.  He was in Studio Big this morning.  If you want to see him perform live, he'll be at The Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook on August 9th.  Tickets go on sale today.
