We could all use a little more music in our lives, especially some live music.

Fosters.com is reporting the Rochester Performance & Arts Center is hosting its third annual PorchFest September 27 from noon to 5 pm all around downtown Rochester.

There will be something for everyone, from Rock to French Jazz, African Marimba to outlaw country and more. Get ready for music in the streets and plenty of food trucks to enjoy the day.

PorchFest is a free event and open to the public, according to the news article.

The RPAC will be selling all-access bracelets throughout the day to raise money for scholarship funds, according to Fosters, and the bracelets are $10 and can be purchased either online, at The Hub, or from wandering volunteers throughout the day.

PorchFest Event was founded with two missions: ‘to highlight the musical talent of local artists and to raise funds to support the RPAD scholarship fund – offering financial assistance to youth and teens for classes and lessons in music and the performing arts,’ per reporting of Fosters.com.

It’s sure to be a day of fun.  The event organizers have been working closely with state and local health officials to be sure of the safety of the event.  It will be mask mandatory and there will be sanitizing stations all around downtown, Fosters stated.  The way the event is set up, social distancing should be easy to maintain.  In case of rain on September 27, an October 4 rain date has been set up.

This is right down the street from my apartment and I am looking forward to the event.
