Here’s A Dieting Idea…Add Food Instead Of Eliminating It
I survived my first weekend of dieting. And believe it or not...I lost weight! I'm now officially under 200 lbs for the first time in over a year. But I have to tell you...the weekend was a challenge at times.
I kept myself busy by going to Planet Fitness on Saturday. Then went to see one of my favorite bands, Motor Booty Affair, at the Rochester Opera House on Saturday night. Sunday, I had breakfast at my favorite spot in Dover...Fat Dog Kitchen. And while I ordered the Big Damn Burrito...I only ate half. I took the rest home and Jack finished it off. However, I did eat a slice of chocolate chip banana bread. It was my one real splurge over the weekend.
Most people feel like a diet is restrictive. They feel it's all about taking things away. But here's an idea...think about what you can ADD to your diet.
One of the tips given to those of us in this company-wide weight loss challenge is to focus on getting those five to nine servings of fruits and veggies each day. That sounds like a lot...especially if you don't like veggies...but if you can do it, you're actually meeting two goals. Besides all that fiber, you're also less likely to overeat because fruits and veggies fill you up and they displace fat. Then you're too full to eat the bad stuff. And like mom always said...they're just healthier than a bag of chips or a donut! Especially during those times when you're not being as active.
Thanks again for all of the comments and messages you've sent with words of encouragement. Tomorrow I'll talk about eating when you really aren't hungry, and being choosy about snacking at night.
