I am a big reader and I am always trying to broaden my book horizons and stray from the "Chick Lit" that I tend to gravitate towards. Here are the last five books I've read and what I thought about them. (There is a bit of Chick Lit in there)

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time- Mark Haddon

This is a prime example of a book I probably wouldn't pick out on my own. I saw that it was turned into a broadway show and that intigued me! It is from the unique perspective of a young autistic boy and his view on his current, sort of messed up, family situation. It is a quick easy read and is captivating from start to finish.

What Alice Forgot - Lianne Moriarty

I love this author! I have yet to read a Liane Moriarty book that I have been able to put down once I pick it up. She is so great with character development you really learn to know and love her characters. The main character (Alice, you guessed it!) gets in an accident that affects her memory. She wakes up thinking she is 29 but she is really 39. You can only imagine how different her life is from what she thinks it is.

*Another great Liane Moriarty read is Big Little Lies, becoming an HBO series starring Reese Witherspoon

Scrappy Little Nobody - Anna Kendrick

If you love Anna Kendrick in movies and on social media you will love her autobiography! It's like being able to read one of her brutally honest witty tweets but it is not confined to 140 characters or less. After reading her book I feel more strongly than ever that she is my best friend she just doesn't know it yet. Above is a photo of me and my BFF at her book signing.

Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell (I think that is her pen name)

This one is a young adult novel but don't let that deter you. It's genuine, well written and really full of heart. It's a look into the lives of two "misfit" teens growing up in Omaha Nebraska and their journey of self discovery and how they find eachother. LOVED IT!

What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding - Kristin Newman

While all of her friends were getting married and reproducing Kristin Newman was falling in love with traveling and seeing the world. She masters the art of "vacationship" as a solo act and jets off to places like Barcelona, Australia and Argentina just to name a few. Her exciting, fun and sometimes scandelous adventures will ignite your inner wanderlust  make you want to hop on the next plane to Barcelona.

So now I am on the prowl for something new to read. If you have any book recommendations for me they would be greatly apppreciated! :)
