The man found dead in a home in Durham early Saturday was identified by New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella as attorney Alexander Talcott.

The 41-year-old was pronounced dead at his home on Bennett Road after being stabbed in the neck, according to New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval. The manner of death is homicide.

Formella said all parties involved in the stabbing have been identified, and there is no threat to the public. The circumstances of the stabbing were not disclosed and remain under investigation, including whether the person who stabbed Talcott acted in self-defense.

According to his profile on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Talcott was a corporate lawyer and management consultant. He was the general counsel and director of New Constellation Capital and an adjunct professor in business law and finance at UNH, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He was also named the New Hampshire leader of the Republican National Lawyers Association in 2021, according to a WMUR report at the time.
