Kenny Chesney Has Rolled Into Maine in Style
The love-fest between New England and Kenny Chesney goes way back to the early 2000s. He started playing smaller venues like the Worcester Centrum or Boston's Symphony Hall, and fell in love with the area.
He has a special connection to New England and our sports teams, ESPECIALLY the Boston Red Sox. He has a song called "Boston", for crying out loud!
Kenny has been a Boston Red Sox fan since he was a little kid playing Little League. He actually wanted to be a Boston Red Sox player in his youth. One year, he brought his dad to Fenway, and it was an unforgettable day. You will often see him rocking a Red Sox shirt or ball cap. Kenny doesn't discriminate when it comes to New England teams. He's been know to wear a New England Patriots jersey, or even Boston Celtics swag:
This all begs the question:
Does Kenny Chesney have a home in New England?
Kenny told WOKQ's Ginny Rogers that anything is possible down the road, but right now, he has no house in New England.
"I love the coast of Maine and have a lot of friends in New England, so I just stay with them. I'm pretty basic. I usually want to stay in the summer or fall, but I'm just too busy. To be on the coast of Maine is just so absolutely beautiful. I've been out on boats with friends and I love it."
All must feel right in the world for Kenny in this moment, since his "Sun Goes Down" tour played in Bangor, Maine, last night. He posted this photo of he and Megan Moroney cruising around backstage on Transformers GoKarts, living their best lives:
This tour seems like such a blast to be a part of, with Megan, the Grammy-winning Zac Brown Band, and Kenny's #1 duet partner, Uncle Kracker, making appearances. What an all-star crew!
I heard the show in Bangor was unbelievable, and we are just counting down the days until he is at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, next week.
What do you think Kenny will be up to during his week off in New England? I think we can guarantee he will find a boat and spend some time on the water.
