I love oysters, so when I saw that the Railpenny Tavern in Epping had them for $1 every Tuesday night on Facebook, that got my attention.

The Railpenny Tavern also has PEI mussels with white wine... To die for.  The seafood is just scratching the surface of what you can order at this Epping eatery.

The Owner Grew Up in Epping

According to a Phantom Gourmet video on YouTube, Kate McGrath opened up the Railpenny after she had run restaurants in Portsmouth for more than a decade.  She wanted to come back home and show not only New Hampshire pride, but Epping pride as well.  Kate will come around to all the tables just to see how you are liking the place.  I really love her.  I only know her from going to the restaurant, but I feel like she is a friend of mine.

Comfort food is the name of the game at the Railpenny Tavern

The Railpenny has everything that you could possibly want like 4 kinds of MAC & CHEESE!  Traditional Mom's Mac & Cheese, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Mac & Cheese with pesto and a mac & cheese with bacon and scallions.  The Railpenny also has a tavern burger that is so juicy and delicious, and a fried chicken sandwich that will make the Colonel jealous.

The Brunch is to DIE FOR

The Railpenny is also HOPPIN' every Sunday because they have a Sunday brunch that will BLOW YOUR MIND.  How does an eggs benedict with thick pork belly and the KFC Waffle Sammy is super weird, but also out-of-the-world delicious.  It's fried chicken, waffles, and slaw all in one.  Kate, the owner says the KFC Waffle Sammy is without a doubt the best thing they have on the menu.
