Another day, another major car manufacturer with a massive recall. The latest news that General Motors is recalling vehicles due to defective airbags. According to USA Today, this is related to the Takata air bag defect that has led to recalls with several other brands.

According to SaferCar.gov:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The affected vehicles have front seat-mounted side impact air bags whose inflator may rupture upon its deployment.

That's the opposite of what is supposed to happen. It would be wise to check your vehicle for previous announcements related to this issue even if you don't own a GM model; Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, Subaru and more have also seen recalls due to defective airbags.
