Massachusetts’ Most Expensive Restaurant Charges $295 to Make a Reservation

Now, the platform is turning their attention to the most expensive restaurants in all 50 states. Their findings were determined based on "the priciest main course or tasting menu, and avoiding spots with just one very expensive dish."

If you're anything like this writer, you can't afford to splurge on fine dining. But that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself every once in a while. Perhaps you're celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or other milestone, or are simply up for trying something new. Whatever the reason, if you want to dine at the fanciest (and costliest) establishment in Massachusetts, look no further than o ya in Boston.

Everyone likes Japanese food, and you can taste some of the best around at o ya, located steps away from South Station. Offering "acclaimed, inventive sushi", the contemporary Japanese-inspired restaurant provides an elegant dining experience like none other.

o ya (stylized in lowercase) specializes in omakase, which translates to "I leave it up to you". This means that guests leave their menu choices "in the hands of the chef", according to LoveFood:

...guests are served up 20 delectable works of art, consisting of unique nigiri, sashimi, and various cooked dishes. You never know quite what you’re going to get, but expect singular treats like the A5 wagyu tartare hand rolls, Kona abalone with yuzu and foie gras nigiri.

 

How expensive is o ya?

According to the restaurant's official website, reservations at o ya cost $295/person, exclusive of "beverages, tax, admin fee and service." Yours truly's pockets aren't nearly deep enough for that, but if you have the money floating around, this place may be worth checking out (especially given the hundreds of positive Google reviews).
